This post is about one problem I didn't expect to be interesting: how to describe a base so players can actually find the right one.

A base is more than a picture My first version stored each layout as an image plus a copy link. Search was useless. Players don't look for "base #482", they look for "TH16 war base, anti-3 star, good against root rider". So every layout now carries structured fields: Town Hall level, mode (war, farm, trophy, CWL, hybrid), what it is meant to stop (2-star or 3-star), and the attack styles it was tested against.

Copy links expire and break In-game copy links are tied to the game's layout format. After big updates some old links stop opening, so each link records the date it was last checked, and the app hides links that fail a recheck instead of showing a dead button.

Town Hall levels change the rules A good TH12 farm base and a good TH17 war base have almost nothing in common. Filtering by Town Hall first and mode second made browsing feel much faster than any free-text search I tried.

What players asked for most

A one-tap copy into the game.

Knowing whether a base is meant for war or farming before opening it.

Fewer ads in the way. The app is free and I keep it light.

If you play Clash of Clans on iPhone or iPad, you can try it here: https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6804564319?pt=2720803&ct=hashnode&mt=8

Feedback from other indie devs on structuring user-facing game data is very welcome in the comments.
